Why would the dealership check the shock PSI??

The dealer doesn't know what kind of riding you're doing, so they wouldn't know what the correct pressure was for you.

i never check mine. i run 0#front and rear.

 

Every time I wash the bike, at least weekly.

 

Only when I ride two up

 

I check mine weekly, and have found that my forks leak down a bit weekly.. I don't notice much of a change on the rear with just me, but riding two up there is a big difference between not enough air, and enough.

 

I was on a ride this past fall and was amazed at how many guys never checked their shock PSI.

While complaining about ride and handling, the subject of PSI came up. I was one of two with a pump and pumped up five bikes that had a 0 pressure.

They were all so thrilled over the change a little air made to the bike.

 

I'll say one thing, the little HD pump is the best item for checking and adjusting the pressure. i tried several other methods, nothing makes it as easy. Spend the bucks and store the pump on your bike.

 

I adjust pressure for one or two up and check it weekly.

The HD pump is almost a ... bargain - good quality, easy to use and reasonable price. I used a bike tire pump and an ATV tire pressure gage for years. Question to self after getting the pump: Why didn't you do this years ago???

I thought about storing it in the tour pak but figured the vibration would eventually screw up the gauge.

 

I carry mine onboard. No problems with it yet. Mine leak so i never really know when I'll need it.
