Can it be this hard to find the perfect seat? Help!

A hard seat isn't necessarily an uncomfortable seat, as anyone who has spent days riding a tractor can attest. Those old iron seats are indeed quite comfortable, because they are shaped right. A seat shaped wrong, all the foam in the world won't fix it.
Posture too. Again, tractors don't have back rests. Well, the old ones didn't (Alice Chalmers B excepted, and that was just a board).
So look too at the locations of your hands and feet. A lot of hand rise and pull back seems comfortable, but many times it leads to slouching, which isn't good for all day comfort. Handlebars (or a steering wheel) that causes you to sit up straight isn't exactly comfortable, but you'll be able to do it pretty much all day long.
Similar your feet. Got your feet way forward? Everything is resting on the back of your buttocks and your tail bone. It also tends to make you slouch. Nice for a break or change of pace, but generally not something you want for all day riding comfort.

Corbin's are a love/hate thing I guess for people. The above is just my experience and I think you'll just have to keep buying/selling until you get what works for you. I've also not bought any of these new, just keep your eyes on the sale forum and eBay.

I'm on my third seat. I'm 6'3 240lbs and I've got a 2013 Street Glide with a tour pak. Stock street glide seat was too hard. Stock Ultra seat isn't bad, but not sure about for days at a time. newest one is I bought a stock electra glide seat that had been redone by mean city cycles and it sits me too far forward.
Priced out a Corbin and **** it's expensive for a seat with so many negative reviews.
Somebody steer me in the right direction. I'm looking for a seat that sits me back a little bit and maybe a little lower. I put 18-22000 miles on my bike a year and like taking moderate road trips where I ride for days at a time. I think I'd like a driver back rest, but I'm not sold on it.
Thoughts?

I then tried a Hammock seat, demo'd from the dealer. I really liked it and ended up buying one here, slightly used. I like that even better. It's been on since. BTW I'm 6'2, 235lbs and 34" inseam, if that info helps you at all.
We really are all different though.

Holy crap !! Riding a bike that is 20k and sniveling about a 500 dollar seat !!
There is no holy grail perfect seat for everyone, my **** may like a Corbin but Joe loves his Sundowner, Tom really digs his Mustang and Dick is just dandy with his stock seat, Harry just likes to bitch about everything and is never content.
Find a used one for cheap and try it out, you spend more on tires fer cripes sake !!

I know there's no perfect seat for everyone. My hopes were that other tall people could point me in the direction of some seats that worked for them.
I've been going the used option so far. I was thinking I'd bite the bullet and just buy new, but **** at that price, I need a guarantee it's gonna work for me.

Check out the Danny Gray IST seats. I've heard great things about those seats and plan to get one myself this winter. I believe they move you back and down a little. Go for the leather, they have a tailbone relief cut in under the cover.
I currently use a Danny Gray weekday seat and ride 400 mile days on that but it's not made for that.

The bummer os there is no guarantee any seat will work for us. The best thing besides the HD dealer loaner deal is go to a bike gathering and look at bikes similar to yours with seat you are interested in. Ask the owner about it and chances are they will say sit in it for a bit.
I have even swapped seats with strangers and gone for a ride with them so they could try the seat out.
I tried stock, Tallboy which was a little better, Sundowner which was a lot better and finally the Corbin which I scored used for 200 bucks or so which luckily turned out to be my perfect seat.
Spending my hard earned $$ is hard enough without the risk of buying a bummer.
FWIW I hated a Corbin with gel.
Good luck on your quest bud !! When you find a great seat it makes your butt so happy !!
