2010 Ultra Classic

Welcome to the forum. If its your upper back/shoulders, you need to address your bars.
Some here would suggest adjusting what you have. That could work.
Many others (including me) would suggest taller bars.
And before you ask what bars you could get without changing cables - dont. Find the bars you find most comfortable and buy the cables that are required. Its crazy to let cables determine your long term comfort.

Since we're all built differently, what works well for one may not works as well for another.
I sit a little "high" in the saddle and I knew when I first sat on my '13 CVO Ultra that the OEM bars were not going to "get it".
Sure enough, after one 500 mile ride my upper back and shoulders told me so.
For the previous 13 years I had been on a 2000 Ultra with "highway bars" that seated me in a very comfortable riding position and I wanted my new bike to be as comfortable to ride.
I went with the W.O.'s 577, which is about a 12.5" rise and they sit over the break of the upper fairing by about 2" or so.
They fit me well but in retrospect, I could probably have gone with the W.O.'s 578, which I believe is has about a 10.5" rise.
Once I had the bars installed, I could tell immediately that my back/shoulder problems would no longer be an issue.
These new bars, combined with a rider backrest, highway foot pegs, and cruise control, makes the bike is a true "mile eater"!
