Are you interested in selling the premiums? What is the part number on them? Reason why I ask is because the premiums that come stock are different than the ones in the catalogue. The right shock is wound different. Harley says the 54000091 is supposed to ride better than the stock 54000081 & 82.

I will have to dig up the part number but I know they are the older style pre 2015 where they changed the coils.

Don't be concerned about the small difference in length. I believe the Ohlins actually offer longer travel than the "Premium" H-D units.
If I'm mistaken, someone here will have the correct info.

Ya my math was off when I first posted. For some reason I kept thinking they were 1/4" shorter when in actuality they are only 1/8" difference. Plus I believe the actual available travel is more than the HD premiums so on paper they should be better as far as travel. Combined with the superior valving and internals it's hard to imagine they won't be better...but who knows. HD might surprise us here.

I have the 2-2A from Howard and I'm a happy camper now. I don't think size matters...in this case. My 2-2A are 3/4" shorter than your B, but the stroke is only 1mm different.

Only on a Male dominated forum would posters obsess about the tremendous value of an extra 1/4 inch of stroke : >)

Believe the quality of the action is more important than the length of the stroke.

Coming from a BMW GS I am concerned about every extra bit I can get. With that bike I could go up curbs and not ever leave the seat. When I first got this Harley just the joints in the concrete on the highway felt like I was going to catapult off the bike. LoL HD premiums where a night and day difference and I'm just hoping that once again I will experience a big difference.

You swapped a 4x4 for a car with that change! Welcome to the other side. Your Ohlins won't let you drive over curbs like your GS, but you should enjoy a jolly good ride.

You were right, 1/8" x 2 rear shocks = 1/4".
