Here's a pic from a helpful user on another forum that (I think) explains what smokey is referring to...

Yep, I just didn't have a 7/16 adaptor or a box end with 1/2 or 3/8 or 1/4 on the open end for the torque wrench head to fit in with a 7/16 end for the stock bolts. ACE hardware didn't have one so I just grabbed a dozen SS bolts I could make work.Turned out pretty good looking. With no more tapping!

Honestly So much changes to the torque ratio with that combo
I wouldnt trust it as solid
I would prob just tighten it with the box end and call it good

As long as the wrench is 90 degrees to the handle of the torque wrench, the torque setting is not effected. I do this same thing when torquing in a tight spot. I also use crows foot wrenches at a 90 degree angle to the torque wrench.

2 cents coming...

If more of the posters and/or potential posters checked their statements with the googoo (or search engine of your choice...hell, you're already online...easy to do), you'd look smarter the next that particular subject came up

But, then it wouldn't be a "Forum"...would it?

Well I took my bike out for a extended ride today and I'm pleased to announce there is absolutely no ticking in the 2000-3000 rpm range that I had before. Very quiet. I still have a tick at idle-1200 but I guess that something else. Also as far as torque tools for the rocker covers I just did it by hand and feel and I have no leaks. Slow and easy in a criss cross pattern.

I was just going to ask about success with this kit on older bikes. Mine's a 2005 and am interested in applying this fix while my top end is apart.
