Default Brake/Cruise Control Problem

I've looked back through past posts, and found only one that was similar to my problem. Hopefully I can explain it where it can be understood. I have an '05 ultra classic. I can turn the ignition switch on and squeeze the hand brake lever and gently let it off and the brake lights stay on. If I hit the foot brake and let off, the light will go out. My cruise control also will not engage, because it thinks the brakes are applied. This problem seems worse when the bike is running. I've talked to two different people and neither seem to know what is wrong. I've changed the hand lever switch, the hand lever bushing and the brake light relay, but the problem is still there. Can anyone think of anything else that I can check? I'd sure appreciate any help.

Yes, it goes out when I hit the foot brake. You would think though that mashing the foot brake would create the problem if it was sticking.
