This maybe a dumb question, but i'll ask anyway. Each rocker support assembly has 4 bolts, does each bolt get sleeved? If so, then 2 kits would be required to complete the install, right? but hten again....I am looking at the pictures in the install instructions and it looks like the outer bolts are the only 2 that look like they would be retaining the rocker shaft utilizing the notch in the shaft where the noise is coming from. I may have just answered my own question.

Yep... you're right, only one kit for a bike. The inboard bolts don't intersect the shafts, only the outboard side do.... 4 shafts 4 inserts (plus a spare )

After reading all three major threads regarding installing Rockouts, being this thread,

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/new-r...t-is-over.html
and
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...t-inserts.html

there is such a wealth of information within these threads that could just about support any novice wrench head with enough confidence to go ahead and tackle this project at home. About the only thing that was not mentioned in any of the posts was an exact list of tools one would need to complete the job. Now I understand not all bikes will require the exact same tools, however, any specialty tools, tricks, or tips would really complete these threads. I have read where someone runs to the store to get something that they didnt think about having before starting the job. ie; locktite. Or what kind of torque wrench you need and how to best utilize it in the tight spots. I am currently talking with john in hopes that we can get an instructional "how to" video out there. And maybe we can address it there. just a thought. I don't think there are enough ways to say thank you to John for his gumption and drive to figure out this issue a lot of us are dealing with. Then providing us with a resolution at a price that is unbelievable. Bravo John, Bravo!

Hey Rich...

Thanks so much for the kind words. The support you & others have given me here is truly humbling.

Yeah, sorry our schedules haven't jived to do your install. Maybe next weekend will work, we'll have to discuss it in email to figure it out.

I do have some videos, I just need to string them together & add audio. For example, some folks worry about getting the rear support plate out... it's real close to the frame rail on the left side. Here's a quick vid showing the bolts hitting the frame...

https://vimeo.com/170253305

And removing the rear support plate with the bolts still in it...

https://vimeo.com/170253304

And installing it the same way...

So from what I can tell, assuming you have a torque wrench, the only other real specialty tool needed would be the dog bone???

I only seem to find them for sale in sets. They are no doubt good to have on hand for future use but such a purchase adds exponentially to the cost of doing this particular job.
