Default Quick release windshield on RK

It really is quick. Was at the hospital and a life flight chopper came in to land. It blew the windshield off the bike and across the paring lot. I guess I need a different parking spot.

Yeah, I took my sister to lunch today at the Denny's in town, and we sat where I could see the bike. I left the windshield at home, the wind is blowing 40mph with gusts to 50, and I told her while we watched the bike rock on its sidestand that it was a good thing the windshield was at home or I'd be chasing it down the street.

Does everyone elses windshield just kind of snug into place at the top mounts. Those little wire "retainers" seem to do nothing at all.

Mine just snug into place. I bought the bike used, and there were no wire retainers on it.

Wow, mine fits tight but I could see that happening. Did it scratch the heck out of it?

Now you know what those 'do nothing' wire retainers are for.

Most RK's I've seen do not have the wire bent down far enough to secure the windshield.

I have reshaped the RETAINERS on my windshield so they actually retain the windshield.

Simple matter to bend them down to where they lock over the upper mount bushing.
