Default heel shifter question

I want to remove my heel shifter. I don't use it and it's just in the way. Is it as simple as removing it or is there something else that needs to be added? Does the toe shifter then "slide" outward so the shaft isn't sticking out? Thanks for help

I believe there is a spacer/ cap. When I bought my EG it didn't have a heel shifter.

I used the HD cap to hide the end of the shaft on mine. But yes, the shifter comes off without anything special required.

I've used the Kuryakyn part but prefer the Harley shaft cover p/n # 35471-05. I was not able to find it online but it is in the 2015 catalog.

I also used a spacer to move the front shift lever outward.

You can just remove the heel shifter and leave the toe shifter where it is if you want. There are a lot of different caps available to cover the missing heel shifter, but they are just cosmetic.

Minr has bit of black hosing covering the splines of the non-existing heel shifter. Bout 3/4 inch long.

As others have said, you can just remove it and ride.

I bought a chrome spacer off Ebay. I carry my heel shifter as an extra in my saddlebag.
