I made my own spacer from two pieces of 3/4" irrigation hose. I sliced and shortened one to narrow its circumference, installed inside the other (like a bushing). Cost me nothing as I had the hose.

When I took my heel shifter off, I didn't put anything in its place. It drove a friend of mine crazy enough, that he bought the cover for me.

Did the same and by moving the toe shifter outward you effectively get an extended shifter.

My "spacer" is the rubber part of the old heel shifter cut down a little and placed inboard of the single shifter I moved out. It works well and didn't cost me anything.

I turned the shaft end for end. the extra part is now on the inside where you have to know it is there to see it.

I used the HD cap on mine. As mentioned, put the heel shifter in your bag for when your toe shifter gets stripped. I have used it before and seen others have to do the same.

there was a member on here a few years back that was turning some aluminum stock on a lathe. picked up one of those and have been transferring it from bike to bike. i like moving the shift lever out, it makes it a whole lot more comfortable for shifting. i don't feel like i'm having to turn my foot in so much to hit the shift pad.
