Default 2002 Road King headlight issue

Need a little help. I just bought this bike, 2002 FLHR with 15,000 miles. Problem is the headlight. When I switch high beam on and off, nothing changes. The beam that is on stays on. It is the element at the farthest end of the bulb, and I thought that was the high beam that stays on. Yet when I turn on the spotlights the headlight stays on so that would mean the low beam is on or it would go out if the high beam was on correct? Also the blue high beam indicator light never comes on no matter where the high beam switch is. I have looked the bulb over and I don't see a burnt out element but with my 69 year old eyes that doesn't mean much. Any thoughts out there?

P.S. Don't pay any attention to the picture. That is the bike I sold last year when I thought I was done riding. Apparently I wasn't done.

I'd guess your switch isn;t switching over inside the housing.

the yellow wire is low beam ( and spots)

the white wire is high beam

the blue wire supplies power to the switch

once you have power flowing to the headlight plug, you can check the bulb...but when you go to high beam you'll see the indicator come on and the spots will go off unless the wiring is modified

this is the headlight plug, the orange/wht wire is capped off- many of us use that for a gps/phone etc...black is ground

The switch makes the most sense and was my first guess also. I used a jumper wire at the switch and there was no difference.
