+1 on the Monotubes for the front, that was all good with no down side. And again I opted for 1" lower and still better than stock.

I have run 440's, what 444's used to be called, on a number of bikes. I have run 12 inch, 13 inch, 13 inch cut down to 12's by a shop, and both standard and heavy springs. They are supurb "Off the shelf" shocks. As mentioned by others, at your weight the heavy springs would disapoint you. At 190 lbs I could happily run zero turns and never bottom either length shock. One or two turns would support a passenger on the 13's and be perfect. And still ride ok solo. The 12's needed adjustment when mama got on or off. They provide Excellent controll and create zero stutter or shimmy in turns. The lifetime warranty and customer service at least for me, is spectacular. And they are made in the USA. If you want a quality shock, that's ready to bolt on, and ride great, they are perfect. There are better top shelf shocks, but they also cost more, don't come with a lifetime warranty and need to be rebuilt at 30k. All i wanted was a good shock that would last forever. That's the top end Progressive stuff.

I have the 944's and am happy with them once I got them dialed in right. Wife is much happier too. People complain about them being too stiff, but at 250lbs and the wife, being, well, not exactly petite, I finally got them dialed in perfect for her on the back, and a little stiffer solo which I like.

One thing folks sometime fail to mention is the bike their shocks are on. Street Glide, Road King, CVO Limited? There's a huge weight difference just in the bikes. Add sometimes a 150 pound spread just for the rider, maybe 100 spread for the passenger.... just saying I used **** spring with **** turns is confusing.

I have the 944s on my -15 Limited Low. (13") the standard springs were too light for just me solo, even cranked up. I had the heavy springs put on & with about 1/4 preload they're just about right solo. I have yet to ride two up but If I do I'll have room to adjust up.

One thing I think confuses people is that they set the shocks too light and they constantly bottom, but over smaller bumps. Not realizing they're bottoming they think they're riding too stiff & set them lighter. I know this is sometimes true with the "Premium Hand Adjustable" HD shocks.

I put the 444 on my 10 glide. I ride 2 up and went with 12.5hd spring. rides great with 2 up and just a tad harsh with me.With the 12.5 shock, I picked up a little travel over the 12" and still sits fine for my 5'8" frame. Big improvement over stock 12"air shock.
