Got V&H BigShot duals on my SG. WAAAY too loud on my bike w/the 98" GMR.

I even have the "quiet" baffles...didn't do much at all.

I'm wondering if there is any other aftermarket baffle out there that will fit this pipe or a way to mod this baffle to get ita bit more tame? I was thinking more fiberglass wrap or weld up a few holes on it.

 

I recently installed some V&H Basics. When I looked inside of them I thought they forgot to put the baffle in! Turns out the baffle is like a pipe inside your pipes. You can run a rod straight through them. And mine are a bit loud for my taste. But nothing I can do know, unless your post turns something up.

 

You can get the quiet baffle like I did, but in my case, they are still way loud!

 

I have had the V&H Ovals on my '03 Ultra for about 5 months and am ready to dump them because they are too loud. I love the look but the noise wears on you after awhile. i have looked for an aftermarket baffle without success, anyone want to take them off my hands?

 

I also had Ovals on my RK. Earplugs were mandatory when on the superslab. They looked great and had a nice rumble, but were louder than I could tolerate. I just picked up an 07 EGC and I've ordered the Supertrapps from Fuelmoto. They are apparently the same as the Screaming Eagle pipes of a couple years ago. BTW, the Ovals are reportedly V&H's quietest muffler.

 

I just put a set of V&H ovals on my ultra that was modified by local guys that work in the research lab at local exhaust mfg.co. they ground off the front end of the inner tube and installed a length of 2dx10L tubing with 8 rows of 1/8 holes 1/2in apart. The mufflers are very deep sounding. I,m trying to get them a little quieter. It takes a while to get special projects done if your asking other people. Wow.. Someone looking to make the exhaust quite.. I am looking to make mine a little louder but now wanting to drown out the radio...

 

You might try Khrome Werks baffles and besure to buy there wrap, it has a ceramic layer in it. I have a bud that put a set in his v&h long shots and is happy with them. Sound volume is lower.The problem is power output, there might not be anything that is quite. I have been running bassani road rage and will change this week to there2 into2 with and old pair of KW slip on's with there 100hp baffles and see if that helps me.

 

I 'd love to know how the Supertrapps compare tothe Ovals on your RK.....
