I have a 2008 FLH with 6" drop bags, will 2014 lids work on the older bags?

 

Nope. New bags are bigger.

 

Unfortunately they do not, the newer lids are completely redesigned and have much better latches to open them.

 

OK thanks, another question can you take the latches and hinges hardware from the 2014's and adapted to the older lids?

 

You can get a kit to retro-fit the entire new style bags to the older style bike mounts. Or you can read up on the subject by using the Search Function. Other than that you're SOL.

 

If you Google Harley Hardbag Lid Conversion Update you'll get a link to a pending Brukus kit, but when you open it it says page not found. It appears they are working on one. Call them at 843-822-6582 and ask.

Do the 2014 bags follow the same angle on the back of the bags as the older bags? If so then I can put 2014 bags on my 2008 right ?

 

You have to do some adjustments and a little bit of fabrication but you can get the newer bags to fit. There was some discussion on this earlier in the year.
