Modern tubeless tyres are actually suitable for use with or without tubes, so regardless of which pair of wheels you use you can use the same brand and model of tyres. As for the testing of them we do that in here every week! Each brand has it's supporters and I doubt if any one has an advantage.

 

run the aluminum with no tube,carry a stop and go plug kit, tubes suck. if u use tubes dont get them through drag specialties they use chinese made tubes they've left me twice defective tubes. as for tires anything other than 402 dunlops.for max grip avon or night dragons.

 

Lots of folks sing the praises of the American Elites but on my 06 EG they make the ride very twitchy and its hard to hold a straight line. Played with air pressures a little with very little effect. I wouldn't recommend them.

I have had a set of 402's with no issues. Also had an Elite 3 on the rear with no issues.

And I agree with those that mention better options for on the road repairs when running without a tube. And those spokes are a PITA to keep clean.
