Default HD enthusiast magazine came today

page 23 has a side bar on the heat issue with the 07 tc96.
HD is spin doctoring it.
You're riding too slow, not wearing heavy enough pants, you got
fairing lowers.
and oh yes it's 10 % bigger and runs leaner for epa emissions.
But they will give you a free fix.
software update that turns off the fuel when at hot idle and you're not moving!

They call it engine idle temperature management system

figures either a engineer or a lawyer would come up with a name like that.

Why don't they just get smart and do the liguid cooled engine in everything like the Vrod?

I didn't take it as he was bitching, just stating what he had read. And how it seems that MoCo has an answer, even though it might not be what we want to hear. I have a '05 and the bike gets hot in 'parade' traffic, but it is air cooled, so I expect it. And I wonder about what '08's have to offer. Or even what MoCo has planned for the future. Always like a kid at christmas waiting for the new models to come out.

Hey, Look at the back of the mag and you see a one page article on how HD experimented with liquid cooled engines back in the AMF days...but dropped the notion to fix the un-reliable shovelheads and concentrate more on the engineering of the evo engine.
It seems HD has known for a LONG time that eventually they will have to go to a liquid cooled engine.

I think they should come out with a high HP torque monster water cooled engine. Put it in the Ultra, where they can hide the radiator better and give it a year's testing. I thinkmost guys will accept it, trading the water cooling for higher performance right off the showroom floor.

If the MOCO came out with a water cooled 100hp/100tq Ultra I would be the first in line to get one. That would be awesome!!!!!!!!!

Dunno why ... but choochoo likes to slam the '07 line ..... must be jealous or something.

Seems funny that most of the '07 owners aren't complainin much 'bout their bikes.

Maybe jealous that they didn't get the 96 with 6speed ... and had to big-bore the 88 to a 95?

who knows. Only person I've seen without an '07 bitch and complain so much about the '07s

Suggestion: Get a life.
