Hello my brothers,

First of all thank you all for the great advice and input which really got me thinking on my need vs want. First what I need is a better comfy bike than my sporty... a tourer is something I want. I test drove a deluxe and a fat boy and really liked the deluxe. I bought a black 2016 deluxe for my birthday. Installed a reach seat, engine guards and a bigger passenger seat and a windshield. Took the wife for a ride last week and she seem to really like it...overall its a great looking and riding bike. I feel very comfortable handling the bike and I can flat feet. I am planning to ride this for a few years and then trade up to a ultra classic low ... which I think I can confidently handle.

Thanks again guys ... you guys rock. Ride Safe.

Don't forget to narrow the seat. Many people lower seat when what they really need ot the set to be narrowed to shorten ground reach.

congratulations on your new bike! and thanks for updating your thread.

does that come with the narrow outer primary and derby cover? if not, that will help you put your feet down. a narrower seat nose helps a lot too.

If you are planning on a lot of two-up interstate riding go for it, if you are doing a lot of local riding, a Dyna would do just fine and they are fun too.

my buddy lets me ride his 05 rk 1500. thing is just a beast.
if you wanted a road king before, do what you can to get one. you will not regret getting a road king.
get some boots like this, if you have to.
