Default Tach Wireing Help.

Bike is a 98 FLHR, Picked up a HD mini tack. Where is the signal wire for the tack located or if there is not one on this year where is the best place to run one? The instructions says Ignition harness connector #8 (flhr only) The dealer said it was in the nacelle, but it not there, Can it go straight to the coil?

Does anyone out there know where I could find the signal wire for an aftermarket tach that I mounted on a 2000 Road King Classic. (Fuel Injected)

Can I find that wire under the dash where the speedo back is? (On top of the tank) Or, is it actually under the tank? Thanks for your help.

Default Adding a tach to my 2000 RK

Thank You for the info "67 Rayson". Turns out that the wiring in, of my new tach, was easy as pie once I knew about that pink wire under the dash. It was the one I was looking for. (Signal wire) It was kind of obvious once I knew the color. Harley had it capped off, going nowhere since this model did not come with a tach. Too bad it wasn't a female barrel connector. I could have plugged it right in. I hardwire soldered it in along with the rest of the wires and everything works perfectly. Thanks' again, WAZZZ
