Default Rear brake squeak 2015 SGS

When coming to a stop I have a rear brake squeak, anyone else experience this? I'm not sure if it is an issue and should be brought into the dealer or is a common thing. My bike only has 1500mi on it give or take.
Thanks everyone.

Yeah its a common thing. Mine does it also. Guys here claim it is just dirty with break dust and to spray it out. Had mine to the dealer a couple of times for it but it still squeaks.

Has it always squeaked or is it recent?

It started squeaking after 500mi, do you think that is something to be concerned about? It doesn't affect the braking, but it definitely is annoying...

Well... you are paying for the annoyance... so, like others have done... I'd try to correct it but its your choice as to the dealer or home remedy.

Personally... I'd spray it out with brake cleaner, make sure the float on the rotor didn't bind up (it should be able to be moved with finger strength up and down).

If that didn't fix it... I'd bring my baby back in. enjoy the popcorn, sit in those comfy couches... maybe they will swap out the semi-metallic pads which I suspect may be the cause.

Get a can of brake cleaner and zap the rotors/calipers...see if it kills your squealing. If not, you might need to have the pads adjusted/shimmed.

Thanks all, I'll try the brake cleaner and then if it still persists, dealer time.

Mine did the same after 500 miles. I heard once upon a time that you have to file the edge of the pad down. I'm going to try it next week when I take my back wheel of to get a new tire. I'm so tired of hearing the squeaks of the rear pads. I've tried break clean dosnt help.

I had a similar problem on my 2010 RKC. Cleaning helped but it always returned. Took the pads out recently and chamfered the leading edges and sprayed the backing plates with CRC Disk Brake Quiet.

That took care of the problem. It appears to have been a high frequency oscillation problem with the pads, based on the appearance of the backing plates. I'd give it a try, it doesn't cost much and fixed my problem.

I hate brake squeal and similar noises. I put up with it for quite a while before finally coming up with a solution. I was skeptical about coating the backing plates, but it worked for me.

I will do this with the EBC DoubleH Sintered pads I bought... sound like cicadas when I apply the brake.

My bike is down for at least another week... so its a good time to do ish like this.
