Default Paughco Apes

I am going to install apes on my 2012 Street Glide. The wild1 chubbies at Hill Country are around $950, prewired with electrical switches and housings. I then foung that Paugho has bars pre-wired with switches & housings with the brake lever/master cylinder and the clutch lever installed for only $769. The Wild1's come in 14 or 16 and the Paughos in 14 or 17. Has anyone ordered the Paugho bars? I am leaning toward the 17" Paughos, but want to be sure they are not too tall. I want them level with my shoulders. Does anyone know the measurement of stock SG bars? My idea is to sit with my bike level and place a 4' level on my shoulder over the existing bars, then measure down to the stock bars. That would give me how much higher than stock the bars need to be. Will this work? I have read several threads on bar height and see where a lot of riders wish they had gone with taller apes, but not a single one where they feel their new apes are too tall. That is why I am considering 17 instead of 14. Any suggestions?

Cool

I've been looking at the Paughco's on Amazon for $553. I'm 6'4" and the stock bars on my RK are not cutting it. I don't need the chrome controls but for the price and to have the right size wire, it doesn't seem like a bad deal. Also, you can get a complete set of stainless cables for about $350. Hill Country Customs has a package with bars, wire extensions and cables for $395. Of course, no controls and more labor is requried as well. Good luck!!

On edit: That Hill Country Customs is for a Soft Tail, the package for a RK is $499. Sorry.

Running wires isn't hard, you can save yourself alot of money by doing it yourself
