Default waking up a 15 FLHXS??

I have a 15 street glide special, and I have put 4" Rinehart slip ons on it. I'm wanting to go to the next stage with a head pipe and tuner. But on a budget!

Questions are: I'm looking at either a decatted stock head pipe (cheap) or Fuel Moto Jackpot ($399) with my current RH mufflers. Suggestions??

Now for a tuner I'm leaning towards the V&H FP3 $399). Again, suggestions

Also I was planning to stay with the factory air filter setup.

And I have used search button and I have read these forums for a couple years now, And there are hundreds if not thousands of questions like mine, And everyone has a different opinion. So I guess I'm looking for a "Yes I'm running this setup and I like it or don't like it answer. So with that said, what are you running? and do you like it? etc.

For performance I would go with the jackpot 2-1-2 header and imo you need the air cleaner as well. right now I think if you buy the fp3 from fuelmoto you get a discount on their air cleaner.

I have a very good friend who has a '14 FLHX that I ride quite often. It has the FM 2-1-2 spc coated steel header pipe, FM air cleaner with stock cover, Rinehart 3.5" mufflers and TTS-100 cams. It has been dynotuned using TTS Mastertune, runs super good and makes 115tq, gets over 40mps and never misses a beat. Good combo.

if you're keeping the stock air cleaner just de-cat your header. I did mine. Stock air cleaner, RC slip ons. De-catting wakes the sound up. Not a lot louder, just more bite. No need to tune until you are ready to change the air cleaner.

I have my stock header from my 14 SG that I'm going to de-cat and sell. I would do a swap out with you and credit you some cash back when you ship me the old one. Or I could just sell it to you outright. Let me know if you are interested.

Running fuelmoto 2-1-2 header with jackpot mufflers and se elite heavy breather with power vision on my 14 sgs and love it. Runs great and plenty of bark through the jackpot's with comp baffles. Their head pipe is great quality and fits perfect

Plain SE Air Cleaner, Bassani, D and D. hell just go searching for good exhaust. Get a TTS tuner and a good Dyno. That is all you need in my opinion.

I just put rhinehart 4" on my bike and have the fp3 with stock head pipe, catted and ac. It sounds a lot better but didn't notice much difference on the butt Dino.
I think I need to take that cat out or get different head pipe.

Thanks to the EPA, the bike ran lean when bone stock. I would prioritize the tuner. I did a/c, mufflers (pipes are in the garage waiting to go on) and an FP3 ... Already a huge difference in the "SOP" (seat of the pants) Dyno performance. YMMV

A bone stock Harley will benefit from a good tune/tuner to get the AFR where it belongs for optimal performance. Needed with just an exhaust change, probably not but will definitely help. Keeping air cleaner stock will limit the benefits. Fuel Moto usually sells package (exhaust, A/C, tuner) for less than the sum of the parts with a pre-loaded map and support if you continue to upgrade later.
