By the way the 110 with the same thing done to it as the 103 will STOMP the 103. But then the 120R will stomp the 110. The 120R with 12.5 to 1 pistions will Stomp the 10.5 to 1 120R.

Then a 143 S&S will stomp all of them. Then a Hyabusa will stomp the 143.

Whole lotta stomping going on. Hmm add a Trask --when will this all end?

a well built smaller motor may run rings around your 110.

but for your location and price that's pretty good.

I want to stick with genuine HD parts - that's why I won't do the FM 107 for example.
I think this kit should be reliable as the motor is relatively unstressed (less compression than the 103) and I'll accept an only moderate increase in power if the trade off is no loss of reliability.

Thanks for that. Considering the limitations of being "Down - under" and my lack of trust of what you would call "Indie" shops down here I think genuine Harley is the way to go, here at least. If I was in the States my decisions might well be different - more choice there.

Reliable.....? It's a brand new part with a STEEL liner that's thin as cracker. Good luck.

I figure Harley would not release the kit if it wasn't engineered correctly - they'd be setting themselves up for hundreds of "class actions" if they did...

Hmm- I would think that the strong individual character of the Aussies would make for some great shops...

I've been to shops there ( not Canberra) and seen some nice work...I sometimes hire from Eddie Garner in Melbourne...they know how to build Buell racers for sure.

If your decision wasn;t firm...I'd ask FM for a referral in NSW

I Think they are counting on the 3000 mile a year casual rider. After afew years,no warranty...if before, they will just say it was abused or used improperly. Yo can get the same power more reliably with a good cam and headwork in a 103 for less $$$$

I wasn't referring to just the warranty period, class actions can be brought at any time for a defective product.
Also, I am interested in a torquey motor which is what I will get with the 110.
Power gains in 103s with cam work usually require you to be in the high RPM range to pay dividends. That's not my riding style - I usually upshift once I hit 3500 RPM and cam gains usually only start to become apparent above this rev range.
