Default Looking at putting 16" apes on my street glide

Does anybody have this done to there street glide yet. I'm just wondering on how it handles and how comfortable it is or isn't.
The shop I went to had 16" already wired and said install and for the apes is $500. Just wanted to see if anyone has had 16" that could help me out with this decision. I wasn't intending to go 16" but seemed like a good deal.

Thanks for any advice

Plenty of guys that's went 16" and higher. Bigger question is how tall are you? No matter how good a deal seems they need to fit you.

I'm 6'2" with 36" inseam - I went with 12" YBB which are actually just shy of 14", my hands are just below my shoulders - another 2" higher will probably not make that much a difference in handling on the highways, but I wouldn't want it on the twisty's for myself
Easy way to check is get a broom handle, hang a piece of string that is 16" long with a small weight at the bottom, sit on your bike, hold the broom handle out in front of you like you would your handlebars till the bottom of the string is about the height of your stem and see how it feels to you.

The 2 above post are right on, measure , 500 dollar bars could turn into a thousand if they are not a good fit for you.

Go for it. You won't regret it. Plenty of Street glides with 16s. $500 ain't bad if you don't want to f*ck with it.

Yeah I'm 5-10 170lbs

I'm glad to see everyone help me out! It's a big decision. That's for sure. Anybody have any pictures on what they look like on our bikes?

Mine are 14" KST Mayhems but they measure out close to 16". So does the Yaffe MBB's.
