Default MGS Slip Ons and S&S Power Tune Dual Headpipes

I bought a set of MGS Custom Bike 4" slip ons a few months ago and bolted up to my stock headpipes. No big deal. A little more sound. I recently added S&S Power Tune Duals a PM Super Gas intake and FP3 tuner. My issue is that the MGS slip ons come up a little short when connecting to the headpipe on both sides. I have them pushed all the way forward and they are barely covering end of headpipe on both sides. Just asking if anyone else has had this issue. Really not satisfied with the MGS slip ons so far. First they want me to add shims to right muffler to clear axle which I didn't like now this. Just venting ....sorry. Assume I'll eat it and get another set of mufflers.

That's weird as when I put the power tunes on my FLHR, they were longer than stock and it was difficult to get me SE cans on the head pipe far enough.
I even used a tailpipe expander on the slip on but hardly got it on far enough so the hanger under the saddlebag lined up.

Has anybody used the power tune headers and fishtail slip ons? That may be my next mod...

Compare your MGS slip ons to your stock mufflers for lenght. If comparable ,your headers are cut to short.

Already thought of that and going to do just that when time allows. But you would think S&S would have these down pat as long as they've been making them.

Must be the difference in mufflers. I have 4" Rineharts behind the S&S Power Tunes and they fit fine, about mid bracket at the rear.

What I am thinking. With stock mufflers and headpipe muffler body was almost up against heat shield. When I added the MGS mufflers the body of muffler was about an inch shy of the heat shield. About the same with the Power Tune head and shields but I have the mufflers pushed as far forward as they can possibly go. And the slits where you put the clamp barely covers that part of the headpipe.

My S & S headers were short on the left crossover side when fitting 4" Rineharts. No problems with right side (actually was 1/2" difference in two sides). Called S&S and they said Rinehart's are sometime short, but sent me a new crossover piece. It didn't help so I pushed them all the way forward and dropped it with S&S. Tech support really wasn't much help. See pics

I just got home and took a stock muffler up against a MGS muffler. The MGS muffler was about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inch shorter between mounting area and clamping area. I think I have found my problem.
