Trading my 14 SGS for an 09 Road King
#23
I recently purchased a 2015 Road King (leftover) and was considering the Street Glide. I decided I didn't need the radio/gps and wanted more of a traditional motorcycle, so I went with a RK. The upgraded 103 high output motor is awesome along with the cruise control. You won't go wrong with a King...

I would be interested as I wish to have a street glide special. I have a RKC 09 with 16000 kilometres (in Canada). Black with tons of chrome and beach bars.

Just thinking outside the box a bit. Why not get a Road Glide? You still have some wind protection, a radio, maybe a GPS and a first class ride. But you get more wind than the Bat wing provides. To me its the perfect in between bike. And above 80 it handles better than the RK or a bat wing will.

I went from a 2009 SG to a 2014 RK. Glad I made the change and no regrets. I like the RK looks over the SG, windshield is more appealing over the fairing, and the RK rides smoother and handles way better over the SG. I use a handlebar mounted 2009 Road Tech Zumo 550 for navigation. Don't miss the tunes either.

Who the hell needs music when you can listen to voices in your head, or nothin?
Myself I love tunes and think that they actually accentuate the ride.
One of the reasons I bought one.

Went from a '13 RK to a '14 Ultra and have regretted it. There are some really nice features on the Ultra, don't get me wrong. The tour pak and saddlebags are very nicely done. At the end of the day, though, I agree with OP that I just don't care to sit behind a fairing all day. I am also very disappointed that Harley farmed out the radio software to India and put it to market with so many bugs in it.
