Default 07 Street Glide Running Like Crap

Lately my SG is having some issues that I can't figure out. I've got 30K or so on a TC96, Stage 1 Ness Big Sucker, PCIII, Samson 2-2 exhaust, no motor work ie; gear cams installed.

Takes at least three cycles to turn it over on a cold start. Once started, it wants to stall and will if you let it even after a long ride. Oil pressure and amps are normal. Battery is fully charged and on a tender. WTF could be wrong with this thing? My Indie mech doesn't like messing with FI bikes and said I need a Cobra Fi2000 tuner and that will solve it. Not sure I want to spend $400 or more on a tuner without knowing what the exact problem is first.

Any input is appreciated. Absolute last resort is taking it to a dealer.

Your indie mech only knows one thing, so thats the answer to all questions.

Start by removing the PCIII and see how it runs. These things have been known to have problems.

as above, try bypassing the PCIII temporarily.
sometimes just renewing teh connections is the fix

if not, any signs of an intake leak?

You can use a piece of rubber tubing to your ear and move the other end around the intake and you'll hear air rushing if there is a leaky seal.

I don;t know uf this applies to the 07 throttle body, the later TBW throttle body has a fitting for the evaporative canister hose used on CA. and I'ntl models. on 49 State models we get a plastic cap, which can be dislodged.

3.) time for a new Indy.
a.) he's not willing to train himself and will be stuck working on 2006 and earlier bikes
b.) if he gives it a shot, he doesn't have the experience and will be "learning on the job" which can only cost you.

If the bike runs fine otherwise, not surging in all other RPMs, clean your Idle Air Control (IAC) valve.

It's in your intake and controls your idle. Known to get blocked or dirty and cause those symptoms.

If the bike is surging or running extra hot and generally running like crap in all RPMs, check for an intake leak.

Not throwing any codes?

This does sound like the IAC problem that has been an issue for numerous 07s, although I never had that one, many did.

This is all I could find but I thoink that's all that's needed.

I'll try the IAC cleaning, thanks for the scoop! I'll report back with the results.

I looked at the PCIII tonight and it looks like it's plugged in at two places. Should I just disconnect it at one end, both ends or just remove the whole thing?

Remove the whole thing as if it was never there. I'm not a PCIII owner, but it sits in line with the ECM, so reconnect the ECM the way its supposed to be.
