My Samson Hell Raisers are a complete system not just slip on mufflers. I had Rinehart True Duals and had the same starting issues from a long time ago I just never bothered to address it.

So it's starting and idling just fine now right?
If so, try reattaching your PCIII just in case it was a bad connection or something.

Right, starts first go round and idles fine just haven't ridden it yet (raining tonight). I'll reconnect the module and see if it's ok or still acting up. Not showing any codes. Thanks.

Took it out tonight with the PCIII disconnected and it ran better than it's ever ran since I've owned it. Quick start, no popping on decel, no stalling or high/lo idle, plenty of hp on a throttle roll. Hate to reconnect the PCIII but I might just to see what happens.

What did I tell ya?

If you want to spend some money, replace it with a Power Vision. It does not stay on the bike, you use it to flash a tune to the ECM. So there's nothing to fail like the power commander.

If you buy one from Fuel Moto (http://www.fuelmotousa.com), they will put a map on it for your bikes combination of parts. Once you get it, connect it to your bike with the data port, flash the ECM, then remove the PV. Ride.

If you want to fine tune the map they gave you, you can mount the PV on your bike and do "tuning" rides where it records your ride and can create a new map based on what it observes.

The problem with the Cobra tuner is that, like the Power Commander, it sits between the ECM and the senors. So like the Power Commander it remains on the bike and is one more thing that can fail.

None of the above, I was debating on knocking down an 18 pack tonight and riding through deer country.

I'd put a gas filter change on your list if you have 30k on her. Mine looked like crap at 25 k .
Based on what I saw I'll change it every 25 going forward.

Installed the Power Vision with a pre loaded map from Fuel Moto. Bike fired right off from a cold start and the test ride was amazing, acceleration through the gears was great and above 75 it pulled away on the interstate. Got home and attempted a hot restart and the same symptoms are back. Sounds like a mechanical issue down low. Not sure if it's a starter clutch or compensator but something isn't right.
How could it fire right off cold then cough spit and gag on a hot restart? Seems if it were a mechanical issue it would do it all the time cold or hot.

Glad I got the PV as I'll need it to retune when I do cams. Just wondering what's at the crux of this starting issue.
