Your saddlebags can now be triple secured
Have been a Brukus fan for quite a while now. Last weekend I finally met them and super nice people. So along with their Saddlebag Secure kit, the stock lock and the conversion of pre 14 bags to their new conversion kit with additional lock I can't imagine your bags being any more secure other than removing them. To be released sometime this month.

As has been posted many times, a rider can change out themselves & save big with a handful of fasteners from the hardware store to "secure" the bags onto the bike.
Even tying a shoelace to the rings to tension the pins will work....this trick has been around since the 80's

This is a saddlebag lid conversion. Neat stuff.

It dang sure ain't rocket science to secure your damned saddlebags, and you sure don't need to pay someone else for their "kit" either when $4-6 bucks will cover it at the hard ware store.
Don't know about spending $200 dollars either for their new kit.
My old one works fine.

Im sorry that is a cheesy looking set up, looks like the lock they add to water hose door on an RV. I have their detachable T/P locks that are great as long as I don't loose them. As for the saddlebag locks, like someone said $6 at the hardware store and your good. For about $21 I bought enough hardware for about 10 bikes.

I posted this because just read a thread where yet another member had their bags stolen in the middle of the day in a parking garage (I think). Sure you can buy hardware to secure your bags better at a big box store but I don't mind supporting a small and creative entrepreneur. Besides, I wonder how many thought of this before Brukus advertised as a sponsor on here????
As far as being cheesy, the conversion kit, it is far from it. Another top notch product from a top notch company. Their stuff has been copied even at least by one other company to with what Brukus has come up with but there you may find cheesy. I speak from experience in my dealings with Brukus. Meeting them was just a bonus!!!

some of us have also been replacing various bits of hardware on the bike whether for form or function.
and for saddlebags in specific, I swapped to the speed nuts and wing bolts in about 1996 when the dsuz pin fasteners had too much play in them.
You can spend more- that's a riders choice...but under $10 for a handful of bolts works for me.
No comment on the replacement latching mechanism- the stock stuff is space age compared to my other bike
...this bag is secured with cotter pins

They are in the process of updating their website and should have some better pics if not videos in the not too distant future. I can tell you first hand, as I stated in the topic, that this can triple secure your saddlebags on pre 14 models. That is something the Rushmore bikes will not be able to claim.
