I'm confused. This kit will allow one handed opening like the Rushmores?

That depends on the locking mechanism that you choose. Theirs is more like a twist **** with wings if you will. Unfortunately I only had my bags with me as bike is getting close to complete makeover and still having work done. Had to have a complete custom seat pan/seat built because of 7 gallon tank so I opted for an outer lock which blended nicely with my existing latches. Again, the new website should be up soon, maybe next week and will give more detail.
