Agree, no need for the filter. The lack of it hasn't done my bikes any harm in over the last 15 years.

From what everyone is saying on this thread I would need to run the hoses from the heads downhill, then change it to up hill, making sure I plug the air cleaner holes, then install a filter and then not install a filter. Got it.. LOL

Seriously, having worked on cars back in the 60's the blowby system vented directly to the ground, gravity would drain the hot oil/burnt fuel mixture (what got past the ring gap), to the ground. The hoses would generally run next to the trans and drip on the center of the driving lane. Staying out of the "tire" lane. That is why to this day, some old schoolers ride right or left of the center so as not to slip and slide in the "oil lane". So by taking this theory, I routed mine straight down to a T, then to the the right side of my frame and it should drip well right of my tire. Not going up, no filter. Ride safe and stay thirsty my friends! Now where did I put that pizza box top for when I park the bike in the garage?

You can route the vent however you like ,it's a vent not a drain. I also run mine without a filter. I have mine routed from the breather bolts to a t behind the filter and down to the ground.

No filter on my Evo for 20 years now and it still runs great. Run both sides to a 'T' and then one hose traveling down between the frame tubes. Just let it hang.
I've also have neverexperienced any tire slip from anything oil coming from that vent hose....that's just another old wive's tale.

Hoses come straight down to a tee then single hose to ground is how mine is.
