After having Rineharts installed on my 2008 Ultra I encountered what seems to be a common occurrence of one of the end caps changing to a purple color. As per the normal course the HD stealership informed me after the warranty was up that I could have sent them in for replacement. Going forward I was told that if I switch them around the colours would eventually match up. After removing them I found that the discoloured side had 16 hours drilled counter sunk into it and the other only 2. Does anyone know if this is the correct configuration?

 

Just ride more and burn the color off. They will both eventually turn a nice bronze/gold color

 

I replaced mine with PM tips about 4 years ago and they still look good. It's worth the money
