Turn Signal Problem: 99 FLHR

I have a problem that is driving me batty! On my 99 FLHR my left turn signal is working only part time.
I put new bulbs into both the back and front and get the same behaviour.
Oh why can't things be as simple as my Panhead!
Thanks
Joe
- If I start up the bike and let it idle all the lights work as normal, including the front left marking light.
- I can turn the left turn signal on and it will blink as normal.
- If I rev up the bike a bit the turn signal will stop blinking, however the turn signal stays lite, just doesn't blink.
- If I turn the turn signal off by pressing the left turn button the solid lite turn signal goes out.
- If I let the bike goes back to idle from having some gas applied the turn signal starts working again.
- If I press both left and right turn signal buttons all four light blink like they are supposed to.
I put new bulbs into both the back and front and get the same behaviour.
- I don't think there is a short anywhere, if there was a short, the turn signal bulb wouldn't even light up?
- Could this be the turn signal module that is causing this?
Oh why can't things be as simple as my Panhead!
Thanks
Joe

they can be , cut the signals off with a hacksaw and use your arm signals.
sorry
weird problem- I can only wonder if your regulator is over volting and the turn signal module is responding to the high voltage.
or the reving motor is affecting a ground connection somewhere...maybe try a jumper wire from the turn signal housing to the battery -
also I'd try, motor off..ign on, turn on turn signal and shake the bike...bash the tires with a ball bat, looking for sign something is loose
