RE: What type of jacket do you wear the most
I've got a Harley jacket made of nylon with a pleather collar I bought on the clearance rack at Lake/Shore HD abou 8 years ago. This emulates the classic Bates but without the belt. It's easier to roll up into the saddlebag, sheds water better, cool enough in the heat and warm enough in the cold. Once in a great while I wear one of many others, but this one's the usual. My wife bought one the following year but doesn't load her pockets (that's why we don't need purses), so she rotates between about 5 different ones. Summer riding is with the old reliable "road rag" vest with the old pins and patches.

HD Maxima
I have the Heritage Jacket and the HD Mesh jacket. I really like both of them. I also have the HD Competition Leather Jacket but I like the textile jackets better. The Heritage gets tobe a little too much over about 75 degrees. I rode all summer In Texas with the HD mesh jacket. It was truly like just having a T-shirt on only with the added proctection of soft armor and skin coverage. I will gladly answer any questions you have about either one if you have any.

It's tough to beat leather for abrasion resistance when/if you fall. I've only ridden a time or two when it was too hot here in the SouthWest US. I've fallen a time or two as a kid and I don't like big painful scabs! For me, Wilson offered the best value for the $$$ with an insulated removable lining. For my better half, a HD jacket on 1/2 off sale was just right.

Ilike/use the FXRG Nylon Jacket. I like the flexability of it. Easy to adjust airflow for the weather, has a cold weather insert, and enough pockets to store things in. FXRG also has a leather style if you like leather. MHO...your jacket is about safety and style. Get what you wanna wear but also comfy and usable. Remi

FirstGear Leather Jacket for the cooler months. As soon as it's in the 60's and above all day long, i switch to the HD Switchback Nylon jacket. (they just came out with a newer style this year). Has full armor and coverts from full nylon to a mesh panel. Great during the hot months, with the cooler mornings, even comes with a remoable liner for rain.
If it's real hot, like in the 90's and above and just doing some quick jaunts, i use the FirstGear Meshtex jacket.
