Default Air cleaner question

I've been told that the round air cleaner off of the `14's & `15's
will fit my `12 Limited.I have a K&N in the stock `12 housing.My
question is if I change to the round air cleaner with a K&N filter
since it has the scoop & the front opening will it flow any more
air than my football cover?

Yes it will fit. From the research that I've done, the intake on the 14s and 15s flow almost 20% more air than the previous football intakes. Here is the intake off of a 15 on my 09,

the complete stock air cleaner off a 14+ will fit on your '12 throttle body.

and will flow about 15% more than the stock '12 air cleaner with the stock paper air filter.

you can check with K&N whether your filter would fit in the new housing

if you just want a high flow air cleaner the ness big sucker is under $120 on ebay from easternpc.
it uses the football cover ( which will hide the servo motor plug and wiring)
and comes with an oiled, washable filter similar to the K&N

If you shop around you can find a 14 or 15 stock air cleaner assembly for cheap. I was able to get mine for $20.

Where did you guys read 15-20% more air flow then prior years? I read 5-7% increase in air flow.

I also bought a Rushmore a/c and consider it a hi flow for a stock 96 or 103. Cammed, not sure.
