Default Decatting a 14 SG: Why remove the 02 sensors?

About to remove the head pipe on my 2014 SG in preparation of decatting.
I understand the need to unplug the O2 sensors, but why am I reading that I need to completely remove them out of the head pipe?

Any special considerations I need to be aware of during the removal and reinstallations of the O2 sensors? Do I use any Loctite?

I would think the reason is so you wouldn't damage them (the wires coming out the top of them) and use anti seize on the threads

I'm assuming most don't want fragments of metal onto the O2 sensor. Not a huge deal to take them out.

the o2 sensors are delicate- they cannot be corrupted by other materials - so remove them and keep them clean rather than exposed to cutting oil, or bits of cat.

you may notice that some intake cleaner sprays or silicone rtv type sealers are marked as "sensor safe"

Yep, simple damage prevention.

Yes, damage prevention.

When you go back together, the black connector is for the rear cylinder O2 sensor and grey for the front. I've seen people swap them and the bikes don't run quite right.

The o2 sensor sits right in front of the cat. The sensor sticks out in the middle of the pipe. One accidental tap with the drill bit or a broom handle to knock out the cat material will cost you 55 dollars for a new sensor...don't ask me how I know that
