Even better than 3 years old is he decided this is worthy of post number 6 and 7 after a decade. I alway find this to be so fascinating. Like, what have you been doing and/or reading on this forum for a decade that this big fish of a thread compelled you to post.

Not hating either. I just always find this fascinating.

Too many old heads whining about NOT doing a search before posting?

These guys coast downhill all the time, in formation, I mean, what could possibly go wrong if your all professionals, right??

How is posting a new thread when another is old different from posting a new thread when another is fresh? If the original topic is still relevant I would think some thread consolidation could make a forum more usable. I had no idea people do this sort of thing, and there were some good points and information on earlier posts I would never have thought to look for or discuss regarding both safety and mechanical (aside from the one riding the clutch w/engine off...!)

Lol.
Lets resurrect a thread so people will think I'm smart. OK.
Well, I went to Wyoming Tech back in the 80's. And I very much enjoyed shutting off my motorcycle around the Lincoln Monument and coasting in neutral all the way into the gas station in Laramie. Its been over 30 years since I've been in Laramie, but I "think" I could coast in neutral for almost 20 miles. Maybe it was just ten miles??? Either way, it was a pretty cool phenomenon at the time.

What I do on my own time is my business.

With this kind of reception to my reply, can you blame me for being reluctant to post?

There's certainly no lack of knicker knotters on this forum. But there are also a goodly number of nice folk.

I agree.

I don't know why, but this /thread/post just popped up in my IN basket. I don't recall ever checking it. I don't have time to check all the posts to see if I did. If I did, it had to be quite awhile ago.

The only time I coast is sometimes coming to a stop.
