3M Paint Protection Film

3M Paint Protection Film
I thought this question was already asked but I didn't come up with anything in the search so....
Have any of you tried the 3M film to protect the paint on your fairing/lowers/fender/etc.? I have this stuff on the little woman's car and it works great. My fairing and lowers are taking a beating and the little white specks on black paint drives this perfectionist crazy!!! It is no show bike or garage queen but after I get it custom painted it would be nice to keep it looking good not to mention the $$$$.
Thanks,
RJ

RE: 3M Paint Protection Film
The side covers on my RK have a few pieces on them where the bags get too close. I assumed it was put there by the factory. Lately I've been thinking about getting some for a couple of other spots where the clutch cable is trying to rub the powdercoat off my crash bars. The only problemI see with it for a perfectionist like yourself is the wax build up around the edges of it.

RE: 3M Paint Protection Film
I have it on my fairing, front half of front fender and on the front of the saddle bags. I had it on the s-bags lids but took it off after kicking it many times. I couldn't keep it looking good so I removed it and now keep them waxed. The front looks good. Find someone with experience to put the stuff on. The guy that did mine is a tint and bra installer and said the RG fairing is hard to do.
