Installing Rocker Box Covers
Does the engine have to be unbolted and moved around in order to get the rocker boxes cover off? Or does the engine have to be removed to do this?
Thanks!

Remove the gas tank an the rocker box covers can be removed with the engine in place. A rocker box wrench will help. Things are a tight fit but they will come off and go back on without moving the engine.

Take a standard 3/16 Allen wrench. Take the short side of wrench to a grinder. Grind it down to about 3/4 long, fits right in there.

Remove the tank and basic hand tools. Nothing fancy needed. It's isn't hard at all. Just have a service manual so you know what order to re-tighten the bolts.

If you're the kind of guy who thinks torquing your engine fasteners is a good idea you'll need a dogbone wrench when you go back together.

Put layers of blue painter's tape on the tops of the covers to protect them. Also a couple of wraps of electrical tape around the motor mount over the front rocker box. If you have lowers the front can be a bit tricky but angle it just right & it will come out.
