Default Stripped out windshield/fairing nut

A friend of mine has stripped out the center nut on his Electra Glide fairing. The one in the center of the windshield. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? Does the dealer have anything available?

The part number is 16585-96. When you get the old inserts out use a 3/8" flat bottom tap in the holes then you just screw in the new inserts. Not hard at all. While you are replacing the center go ahead and replace the other two.

You need part #16585-96 fairin inserts. They have threads and screw in instead of push. When you get them you'll see they have slots in one end. DO NOT use a screw driver and try to wind them in they will break (ask me how I know[:@]) Start the slotted end in the fairing and use a windshield srew with a nut for a spacer and wind er in. Some guys say they tap the whole first, but I didn't and it worked great, way better than the stock setup.
