Michigan to Niagra Falls
Has anyone made the trip from Michigan to Niagra Falls? I am taking ferry from Milwaukee to Muskegon in the morning and am thinking of cutting across to Niagra Falls then heading south through NY and PA. Planning to cross border at Port Huron.
Any info you can give on the roads from there across and suggestions on what to avoid would be great. Planning to spend the night in Niagra then head south Wednesday morning.

I made the trip to the falls twice from Lansing Michigan when I was in law school, in Lansing MI. I took the US route the first time and the Canada route the second time. I guess it all depends on which side of the falls you want to visit. There is actually a US side and a Canada side. I think the Canada side offers a better view, but I was treated so poorly on the Canada side that I wouldn't now **** on Canada if the whole country was on fire. So that being said, I would take the southern route and stay on the US side. Still, I think its something you will enjoy no matter which side you visit. Just remember about the whole money/currency conversion thing if you go visit those rude as fuctards in Canada. No matter what, its an experience I am glad I undertook.

You'll need a passport or "enhanced" license to get into Canada. The Canadian side is much better/cleaner. Port Huron is an easier cross. Stay off of I-94 in and around the Detroit area. Take I-69 into Port Huron. Be courteous at the Rainbow bridge. Those boys can be real hard to deal with.

I have 2 DUI's dating back 24 years and 28 years ago....
Have not been refused entry into Canada....
We cross the border to visit Campabello Island and Roosevelt Cottage,
ride to St John for a good fish'n chips lunch, even spent a few days
at Niagara Falls celebrating out 30th anniversary.
All three crossing points of entry took our pass-cards and ran them through
their computer system....
To the OP....no weapons and no drugs.
Concealed carry and medical marijuana are not allowed over there.

I took the Adirondacks up to Montreal, which was nice. Workers warned about bike thieves in Canada. So I was Scared to leave my bike there, Niagara Falls Canada was bike friendly, the ride through NY, Pa was gorgeous. Probably cant help on roads cause our route was different. Getting lost in the Adirondacks would be worth the trip
