Default 2010 Ultra Limited Suspension

I have a 2010 Limited with stock Air Shocks. Ride 2up and pull trailer when we travel. The suspension SUCKS! Im at about 260. Every time I go over a bump the whole bike sakes. Like riding a lumber truck. Talked to various Dealers about how much air I should have in the shocks. Most said about 35LBS. Tried doesn't work. About ready to order new suspension for rear. Any suggestions ?

Well suspension is kinda like exhaust....what I like you may say sucks. I have a 2010 Ultra and Progressive 944's on the rear and Progressive Monotubes on the front and love them. Have had them on my bike for 4 years. Better than stock are they the most expensive or custom built? Nope....to get that, a lot of folks swear by this guy. More expensive, but custom built for your weight and riding style.

I too have the same bike and agree on suspension. I am lighter than you and wife even lighter than me.. I set mine at max about 50 and still is horrible,,,Going to Fuel Moto early September for a build and adding the Ohlins S36E for the rear..Hoping for a big improvement over stock...I didn't realize though how much suspension cost and these are base shocks...

I also have a 2010 with the same problem. My back is aching from this stock suspension. I'm going to buy Pro Action shocks tomorrow. There's a good write up on this forum about them.
I thought about the Ohlins from Howard but decided against them because from what I read (between the lines) I surmised they are more difficult to dial in than the pro action shocks.

I've tried just about every pressure from 15psi on up, riding solo, and wasn't happy with any. I weigh 215lbs.
I had a '06 and ran 12psi and it wasn't bad. When they changed the frames in '08 the recommended psi in the manual went up. I don't know if they changed the shocks or if it is due to the nature of the frame but to me, the suspension feels much different for the worse.
That's just my seat of the pants opinion.

Did you try the rears alone first, without the monotubes, I just put some super shox on mine, seems a lot better, not dialed in yet, but seems the front is more noticeable, ride wise

I'm very happy with my setup. So much better than stock. Did the rear shocks first and the front a couple thousand miles later. Bike feels totally different. Wasn't cheap but it was money well spent.
