Tour Pak Lid Organizer

Tour Pak Lid Organizer
Yesterday it was only 83 and my organizer looked like it was being suspended by melted cheese. All of the tape holding it up had delaminated leaving a thin strip like scotch tape on the organizer and lid while the middle section had stretched down suspending the organizer. All of the tape was still adhered good but the center failed. Anybody else had this problem? BTW It says made in China!

I saw that one coming, so I went to a good hardware store and bought a roll of commercial heavy duty Velcro. It's 2 inches wide with a peel off back. Very sticky. The good part is, you can remove it if need be. I used it on my saddle bag organizers too, works great on manyother uses as well.

I have the luggage rack in addition to the organizer. I went to the hardware store and found four of the biggest washers I could find for the size bolt that holds the luggage rack on and drilled (carefully) holes through the organizer. I put the bolts and washers on the inside of the tour pack, through the organizer. This holds mine in place very nicely, coupled with the two sided tape that comes with the organizer.

Mine has not come loose yet and I have been through the plus 100 degree days of the plains in August. I have the luggage rack as well and have thought about tbradley's idea as well.
I think the key is to clean the tourpack inside lid well with 90 percent or better alcohol and let dry before attempting to mount it. And I stuffed the tourpack with pillows and left them there for over a week to let the glue set.
