Default Cables

just installed 12 inch apes on my roadking and I'm having trouble adjusting the cables. I barely have toturn the throttle cable out to adjust the throttle and I have to adjust the idle/cruise cable just about all the way out. it just does'nt seem right to me and I still have some slack in my idle/cruise cable. The cables are 6 inch over. I just can't believe there is so much different. Just could use some insight.

Default RE: Cables

Are you absoulutely sure you didnt get the two cables mixed up? I dont know on the rk does one cable have the cruise switch? Then it would be difficult to confuse, also make sure the cables are properly seated where they belong, length of cables will make no diff as the outer sheath is also longer, are you sure they are the correct cables for your model? Is there anyway possible for you to measure the inner cable that is beyond outer sheath? That distance (sometimes called pull) should be the same no matter how long the cable is..Good luck.
