A buddy of mine has the stage 2 on his street glide special and has had nothing but troubles. He has had the dealership reflash his system more than 5 times already and still having issues. Last weekend his amp was cutting in and out just one of MANY issues he has had. I would stay away from boom and look into the aftermarket but this is jmo.

As they say....you get what you pay for! Biketronics are quite pricey but well worth it, you would NOT be disappointed. You are paying for a lifetime guarantee.

I had the 7.1's and 2180 amp on my last ride and unfortunately when I traded up the dealer was so impressed with the sound system they persuaded me to leave it on the trade by knocking off 2k from the price of my Rushmore.

For less than 1k you've got a bulletproof system.

Had Stage II Boom! (2 speaker/1 amp in fairing only) installed on my 14 SGS 3 months ago. It has been a nightmare with AVC, popping and cutting out issues. Each new update brings solutions to issues but not all are gone yet. AVC now works most of the time. Popping is gone but music still cuts out now and then. Dealer is waiting for me to decide what to do and is giving a full refund...was pleasantly surprised by that.

I haven't pulled the permanent trigger yet regarding Biketronics or sticking with Stage II Boom!. After extensive research (like OCD research) there is no cut and dry answer for the 2 speaker 1 amp upgrade you and I are doing. BT is great and even they will tell you until MoCo gets software issue resolved on the head unit their stuff may or may not work as designed.

For now sticking with the Stage II has atleast given me the option to hear tunes over my exhaust upgrade (which stock was not doing) until the software issue is resolved.
