Default SE 103 kit or S&S 106 kit for 2007 FLHT?

I triked (Champion IRS kit) my 2007 FLHT when I lost my left leg three years ago. It currently has SE 255 cams, SE air cleaner, SE slip ons, SE race tuner and cat-free 2009 HD pipes. Before it was triked it was dyno tuned and puts out just under 100 HP. I've got close to 70k on it and it's developed a noticeable piston slap. I'm not a horsepower junkie, but having a bit more will help haul that heavy-assed trike around. Any suggestions on the Screamin Eagle 103 or the S&S 106 kit? Thanks, Dennis

Call Hillside Cycle, Scott will put you together a 107 kit with all the torque. Might save you a few bucks, he won't sell you something you don't need.

And get that bottom end checked out. The '07's had the weakest crankshafts (single year vender,) because of the many runout issues on stock motors, let alone built ones like yours.

If ya plan to keep your 255s ya will need compression releases going 103-107. I would find a good builder and have them put something together for ya. Just slapping on bigger jugs and pistons isn't the proper way to go.

You can go to any Harley dealership, and get a Screamin Eagle Pro Racing Parts book and you can hours of fun like I did back in 08. Until then you can use this, even tho our 07s are a thing of the past. LOL

I am an S&S fan. I just don't think you can go wrong with those guys up there. They "eat their own cookin" and have been for at least 50 years. You don't say whether you have the regular 255 cams or the Easy Start ones. You really will need some sort of compression releases. I can strongly recommend the 255 Easy Start cams as being totally effective. I rebuilt my 09 during the cold weather in February this year because it had 80,000 miles on it and I figured it was time to freshen in up. I ride everyday and I have yet to have a "kickback" when it is hot. Previous to the Easy Start cams I would get kickback 2 or 3 times a day, especially when I pulled in to get gas.

Just to clarify. Pretty sure S&S are the only ones making easy start cams and S&S doesn't list any 255 cams. So to the best of my knowledge there is no such thing as 255 easy start cams. Yeah I'm a jerk sometimes...

As I was. Yes, you are absolutely correct. I meant S&S 551 cams. It is Saturday night and I have been sitting here marinating some ice cubes with brown water for a couple of hours.

Sometimes that old Stab & Kill just starts talking on it's own. I will try and be more watchful.

Don't waste your time or money on the 103". The 106 or 107" is the way you want to go for the same money and effort, MUCH more torque and your fuel economy is about the same.
