Default New guy-volt meter question

Hi, picked up a 2002 pearl white Ultra Classic this weekend. I have never owned a Harley with instruments and wonder about the volt meter. At idle it stays pegged at 15 volts but at cruise it in constant motion, going up to 14 and back to 10 all the time. Is this normal?? The battery is an Interstate with 11/06 activation date so I am beginnig to wonder about my voltage regulator.

humm, my '07 stays up at about 14 all the time when in motion, only time it drops is after I've started the bike, then she goes and stays up.

Default RE: New guy-volt meter question

Here's a link to a reply I made to a post with the same or similar condition. My bike did the same exact thing when I replaced my battery with an aftermarket one (non-HD). Read it as it describes to a T your problem. Hope it helps!

Suspect that Interstate battery!
