RE: In search of a seat ...???'s
I tried the mustang touring seat insturgis last year. The salesman was tremendously helpful. Their service is top notch. Unfortunately, I found the seat pushed me too far forward, that's before I even added a backrest. I suppose it would work if I went with forward controls only. With my driving for a living, a split-cushion rear seat like the saddlemen road sofa is what my bony *** needs and what I'm leaning towards. I also found the Mustang regal baron and regal duke seats I had on previous FX bikes in the 80's made my *** numb after about an hour...which may be a problem with my behind, andnot necessarily the seat. My current stock RG seat which has a schwinn bicycle gelpad sitting on it is good for about 2 hrs straight highway, then I'm cruisingalternating betweenthe front and back seat. The mustang was also not available in a leather top, which I wanted, and I was told that they come universally the same..they don't do any alteration mods, so it either fits you or it doesn't. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Have you tried a Corbin? :-) just joking. i don't like them.
The stock 04Road King seat sucked so I bought a Sundowner. It was much better, but it did move me up a bit. I bought the HD rider backrest and that really moved me up. I've tried putting an extra spacer under the backrest bracket to get it to lay back a bit. The jury is still out on that. There must be something better. Isn't there a tall-boy saddle out there that is comfortable?

On my '07 RK Classic I have the Mustang Solo and removable pass pilion for the wifey. I'm 6' 220lbs and the wife is 5'9" 135lbs. I have nothing good things to say. Pulled stock seat off the day she came home, wife rode 50 miles with me and said stock sucked.

I won't buy anything but a Mustang. Best seats I've ever owned.
My brother bought a used Road King Police last monthform a guy in Henderson, NV. Idrove downwith him to pick it up and we took turns riding it home to Washington State. The guy he bought it from had replaced the factory police seat with a two-up Corbin. I couldn't ride for more than an hour before I was begging for mercy. It felt like sitting on a 2x12.My brother weighs less than I do so he was able to tolerate it for a little longer, but not much. As a contrast, I've ridden many times for12 or more hours on my Mustang without any butt pain at all.

O.K. then - here's what I have accomplished - I called CS for Mustang and got free shipping and a small discount but the most important thing was this...
I explained my situation to Mr. Customer Support he kindly gave me his name and direct line and assured me that I would have 30 full days to try the seat - and if I wasn't happy they would exchange it for free and keep doing that until I found the one that worked, and if the search failed to bear fruit (can't find the right seat) they would refund EVERY penny of my money ...
I said S O L D ... Studded Solo with riders pillion and backrest, studded fender cover, and a free chrome lug set for mounting the seat...
Corbin can NUMB MY A$$ - or was that supposed to be kiss ... LOL [sm=forgetit.gif]

If the mustang fails the test call me 1-866-550-Seat I can fix your stock seat to move you anywhere you want to sit, back, down, up, forward. I use memory foam, I don't sell any gel pads because they flat out suck and I do sponsor the board also. I have allot of satisfied customers on here and allot of other boards. Good luck with the Mustang, I can't say anything bad because if it wasn't for them I wouldn't be doing what I am doing. I bought a Mustang and I felt like I was sitting on the gas tank and it raised me up...I didn't like that I wanted to be back and down.

O.K. look - I don't mean to sound like a DICK here - but this thread was started to find out about the Mustang seat in question as I stated I'M NOT INTERESTED IN CORBIN -
I have been riding for 30 years all different MC's all different distances to many, many different places - I'm not a NOVICE rider - I have had Corbin seats and absolutely HATE them PERIOD ... stop trying to make me look like I'm a junior rider cause I don't want a F-ing Corbin ...
Lets NIP the Corbin crap in the bud now O.K... Thanks...
Again, sorry to come accross badly here but I know where this was heading and I'm trying to avoid "the mine is better than yours" - direction

Talk about incredible CS - I ordered the seat yesterday it was delivered LESS than 24 hours later... Slapped it on the bike - slide in the backrest and off I went.
The seat moved me back about an inch from the front of the bike and the backrest keeps my back straight which all equates into total comfort road for an hour and it was like a dream.
My Wild Chubby's 0517 just came in so as soon as those go on it will be like I'm riding a recliner ... LOL can't wait ...
