Default Is eliminating the O2's part of re-mapping the 07's?

I went riding yesterday w/ some friends and one of them just picked up an 07 Ultra Classic a couple weeks back. Prior to taking delivery of it he had them put Rinehart slip-ons on the UC. As we all know they had to Dynoand remap it following the install.

While looking at the bike I noticed the rear cylinder O2 connector hanging there on Outer Space - I was like WTF? I told my buddy to come over and look at this. We dug down and found the mating connector and it had a "dummy plug" in it. We looked at the front, same thing except the tech took the time to zip tie the two wire harnesses to the frame.

So the questions are... when they remap are eliminating the O2's part of the remap for NON OE exhaust? What are these "dummy plugs"? Resistors to 'trick' the ECM because it now has a free flowing exhaust?

To me this don't seem right. The Steeler is defeating a Federally mandated emission system. Secondly, he doesn't have a TRUE closed loop ECM the way the MoCo designed it to be right?

BTW.. I'm 99% sure he does not have a PCIII. I believe he has the obligatory H-D Stage One setup/downlaod.

Your infinte wisdom and expirience is very much apprecitated for this pondering question.

The dealer would not have put the bike on a dyno if it was only remapped with a download. Take another look at the bike.... There's a good chance you will find a PCIII.

Most likely has a PC111.
Also, the HD injection is not a true closed loop system. It is narrow band.

The dummy plugs are inserted into the harness plugs to keep the ecm from setting a code when an aftermarket fuel management system is installed on the bike. I highly doubt that they were used without the addition of a programmer of some sort, probably a PC III, TFI or a DFO which use the dummy plugs. Easy enough to look on your friends invioce and see what he was charged for

Yes, the dealer did violate the law by disabling the "true" closed loop feature that is used during idle and cruise after the engine is warmed up. Of course, if the Rineharts are not EPA certified, it's a mute point.

It is possible that the dealer installed plugsthat areO2 simulators and tuned with a SERT instead of a PCIII.

Why would they do that? The SERT works fine with the O2 sensors. I mean thats why I (and most other people) went with the SERT so that my bike would retain the variable tune, by using the O2 sensors. Just a question

Only PCIII requires un hooking the 02s, sert or vance and hines fuel pak does not. Tmax comes with its own 02s you use to replace harleys.

Just going by the info presented here,if the O2s are disabled and possibly simulated, there is no PCIII and it was custom tuned on a dyno, who knowswhy, isn't this a possibility, logical or not?
