Default Rear shock question

2010 Ultra-Recently had the rear shocks off and accidently dropped one. Some of the oil leaked out. Is it possible to add oil to the rear factory air shocks? I think I read somewhere that you couldn't do it, but I'm not sure. Thanks.

Yes you can add oil to the shocks. As they take a specifie amount I recomment that you take the fitting off and drain all the oil, then replace it with the measured amount. I used a plastic syringe designed for irrigating eyes. with this you can slowly injected the new oil into the shock. It is fork oil that you can buy at the dealer. I recommed going to a heavier weight oil, it helps the ride some.

Of course if you really want a recommendation then "throw away the POS OEM shocks and buy a set of coil over shocks, you will never regret it.

I just put the progressive 944's on my 2009 Ultra. Much better ride than I expected. Well worth the money. As far as putting in heavier oil I wouldn't recommend that. I tried it in my front forks and I was not happy at all with the results. The forks were too stiff and the wheel didn't stay in contact with the road over bumps the way that it should.
