Engine burp on highway, look to see speedometer needle going up and down
The bike had stalled for no apparent reason a couple of times in the last week. I did just replace plugs only.
Yesterday on the highway, the bike burped and lost power a bit. I looked down and saw the indicator needle on the speedometer jumping up and down and the red and yellow idiot lights went on and off a few times. Then everything was normal.
Ran the diags off the speedometer just now and got no error codes ...NonE on everything. Hmmm ... what was that? Should I go anywhere far without looking this over?
Maybe a dirty contact somewhere?

Battery cables are stiff and always try to return to their "preferred position". When tightening the battery bolts the connectors frequently rotate slightly in the direction the bolt is turned as the bolt is snugged. Now the cables and connectors want to spring back to the tension free position loosening the bolts as this happens. Just before the bolts become snug push the cables and connectors as far counter clockwise as you can get them and hold them there as you tighten the bolt. Hopefully when the bolts are tightened the connectors still want to move even more clockwise thus helping to keep the bolts tight. I have never had a loose connector since I started doing this.

Have you done anything, installed anything that disturbed any wiring? Is there a tuner of fueler of any type on it? If for no other reason than to just do something, disconnect and reconnect the ECM plug. If the problem repeats, move on to other plugs, the one on the throttle body, Could even be the master switch getting dirty/oxidized contacts. Then there is the run/stop switch and wiring. Unless you get lucky, this could be hard to find. Has it been out in the rain or get a garden hose or high pressure washer wash lately?
